79. the northern territory ginger cat was killed, otherwise it might have built a macdonalds on ayres rock
i saw a really sad thing on the abc flying vet documentary, a couple of kooris & a white vet chased down a half-grown ginger cat, it was climbing a tree when they shot it almost dead, they raced up to it, followed closely by the camera crew & its little ginger jaw was still opening & closing, the vet said, 'poor bugger, i don't like killing them, but look at all the damage they do to the environment', the camera panned around, it was some of the most cattle-devastated country i had ever seen, during this time the ginger cat died, loved by no-one during its crisis, the men responded in the only way they knew how, they got a knife & cut open the belly of the little cat, they said, 'he's been eatin' a bit of grass', they found part of a tiny jawbone & added 'probably a few rats too', if the television viewer had been able to open the stomachs of those three men, several cows would have jumped out & run off with the herd, & all the wilderness within the guts of those cows is now passing through the guts of these men, so that was the end of the northern territory ginger cat, luckily for us it was killed, otherwise it might have built a macdonalds on ayres rock |
