CORAL HULL: REED-SONG: EARLY POEMS: VOL 3
page-180 Nights in the trees are so
frightful and hopeful.
distant and warm
and unreachable
because
so small like a glow worm
in a suburban cave
I feel.
When shall I die
there.
The sharp and soft blows
of melancholy
shall no more seek me.
There will be nothing.
Peace sublime.
Oh wonderful, lonely night
take my soul.
I watch the lights in the trees
and I wish to fly the comets tail.
I'm in a nowhere.
The human lifeform is such a
pitiful, suffering, insignificant
thing.
