The land is dark
Warm and foreboding
It threatens silently
A void of emptiness
Watch out! Kangaroos moving
Millions of them staring stupidly
Any moment now, without warning
One could jump out, blinding itself
In the ghost of your headlights
Slow down quickly
The dirt road is hazzardous
Cattle breathe horror
At the car's white light
The gibbers lay waiting
In silent monotony
The trees are silowetted black
Against the vast flow of moonshine
The stars sweetly smile
Uncovering a thousand creeping
Demons, and eyes of bush creatures
Glaring eyes, bright headlights
Quickly, off the road
A semi-trailer gleaming white
Its full beam blinding
A devils delight
The cattle grids are numerous
In this wilderness place
A brooding feeling creeps in
The terror of open space
