Oh Branto I miss you boy
I mourn for you day and nigh
Silent teardrops soak thy pillow
Like raindrops from the sky

We used to go diving for muscles
You moved as a murray cod swam
Into the depths of the Culgoa
Filled with fresh rains from Queensland

Oh Branto I miss you boy
How can I ever get by
You were what filled my heart
And now it has run dry

Why did you chase that emu
Why did you run away
You fell with the bullet that pierced your heart
Like a sun shower falls in the day

You were the only mate I had
Out where the wild ducks cry
You'll live forever in my heart
I'll never let you die

Branto I'll never forget you
On day, we'll meet, I know
You'll be up in the sky chasing emus
Where all the good dogs go.
