we were on our way home from sydney & dale
kept pushing & shoving brendon on the platform
seat/ when i nudged him he king hit me in the
mouth & made it bleed/ then he took off/ once we
got home & dale settled into the bean bag to
watch tv i picked a fight with him/ he got up &
laid into me/ he was six foot three & mum didn't
stop him/ i grabbed a bread knife & tried to stick
it into him/ it bent into his jumper/ then mum
stood in front of me so i was pinned against the
townhouse curtain/ i felt like she was holding me
down as dale threw punches over her shoulder/ it
eventually stopped & i was bruised/ later i went
in & sat on dale's bed & said 'sorry'/ that i didn't
want to fight anymore/ i swallowed my pride &
forgave him/ but i really said it because he was
my brother & i loved him/ but the feelings weren't
mutual/ he accepted but then kept saying he would
bash me up & laughing about it/ i went to
community services/ who said they couldn't do
anything about the threats because he was family/
they suggested that i move out/ so i threatened him
with an assault charge if it ever happened again/
around this time he went out into the bush shooting
with dad & took his camera/ he came home with
several polaroid shots of dogs ripping a kangaroo
and her joey apart/ on another trip to dubbo they
ran over a dog with a trail bike and shot him in the
head/ brendon called the dog 'fluffy' and laughed
about it/ later dale tried to lay into me again &
brendon got him & threw him against the wall/ it
was the first time anyone apart from nanny had
tried to protect me/ mum put in her two bob's
worth/ she always maintained it was my fault/ &
she didn't like me smashing anything in retaliation/
she said 'bodies heal possessions don't'
