58. Because I Didn't Know Any Better
I lived in the gutter in Melbourne
holding the buildings up, pissing
in the street, with three dogs,
one of whom was dying.
Why didn't I go straight to an estate agent?
Three dogs, no clothes, no family support,
I had no money, no worth.
Even if I did have money, I wouldn't
have known what to do with it. Why?
I believed I was worth nothing
that I didn't know any better.
There was no one to tell me otherwise
& plenty to tell me nothing. |
