86. there are twenty-nine white rhino left in the world, looking out at the sunset

there are twenty-nine white rhino left in the world, looking out at the sunset, yesterday there were thirty, then one got shot by poachers for the export market, another civil war is raging on the borders of the national park, today another white rhino was shot, now there are twenty-eight, it's the knowledge of finality that counts, during the last great seconds of a species on earth, i'm fearful that two of them will go into captivity, as the publicised pride of the london or los angeles zoo, under the pretence of wildlife preservation, that they will breed a few more from them as exhibits, if we're lucky australia might get one, the media announcers will pet them in front of the cameras, laughing nervously, in light of this tense & shaky relationship, & in return will get badly bitten, as for the last ones left in the wild, we're all going with them, they are presently being pursued relentlessly, stampeding towards extinction, their horns will rip the fabric of the universe as they go
