                                                                                                              page-285 WINTER'S BUTTERFLY

Flying in circles like a blinded moth
Attracted to the light
So batters itself to death
Trying to reach it ...
Something that should never have been
I am winter butterfly. Lost within a blizzard of thought.
Don't break my fragile wings.
Nor trap me in a net of love.
I cannot survive there.
Let me stay in my cocoon.
There I'll follow the seasons
Surviving autumn alone
To emerge with all the others
To flutter amongst summers blueness
Never to lose my newness
Always a winters butterfly ...
