Black and green, lay grave
and hard faced
Like a cold mirror
A glimpse of eucalypt
and still waters
Hands glide like
insects over its surface
Yet the reflected eyes
are glassy and cold
the pebbles sway and sleep
An invalid face haunts me
The weir is so deep.
