Beside the warm waters mosquitoes are humming
Through the dry scrubland the emu are drumming
Dead gums stand twisted, fanned by a breeze
Locusts they slumber and sing to the trees
The water rat quietly eases thirsts from within
Surrounded by wonder where the Murray Cod swim
Dry mud lay printed by a boar pigs quick feet
A grey scrubber finds that the grass here is sweet
Bush birds merrily twitter in splendor
Tree frog sleep soundly and hope for wet weather
The white ibis gracefully stretches her wings
In praise of blue days and sunshine
Shared by all living things ...
