                                                                                                              page-195 THE OUTBACK LIFE

I lead the life of a cattle man
The sun, the wind, the dust and heat
I take all I need from the land
The outback life you just can't beat

To survive in the outback you gotta be tough
Theres plenty of work, never time to play
The sun is hot, the ground is rough
The night is just as hot as day

Calm and tranquil is the night
The stars are out and in full bloom
This is the time when cattle are quiet
They chew their cud and gaze at the moon

There's no other place I'd rather be
Except 'out where the white faced cattle roam'
'Under the shade of a coolibah tree'
This is the place I call my home.
