CORAL HULL: REED-SONG: EARLY POEMS: VOL 2
page-83 I embrace the mystery of night with joy
And the darkness of night is within me
The life of the trees is within me.
I have the eyes of the wild birds
The bird is within me and I am that bird
I share the sacred blood of animals
The animal is within me and I am that animal
I hold the waters of the running stream
The water is within me and I am that stream
I release myself into the empty sky
The sky is within me and I am this emptiness
I am a sister to all living things - things living
The animals and plants are my sisters and brothers
I embrace them with joy
The changing tide of the moon is within me
The night is my sister
She touches my spirit with wholeness and love
I join with the night songs of the gentle earth
The earth is my mother - within the darkness within me
I am never alone.
