As I sat silently by myself, staring out my
Window, at the frost bitten grass, I was sadly
Thinking about my dog. He had passed away
Exactly one year ago. On cold dark mornings,
Like this, ever since his death, he had returned
To me on the same patch of lawn, wagging his
Tail longingly and staring up at me sadly
Through his big brown eyes. Everytime he paid
Me a visit, I could see the torment in his
Eyes, and could feel the burning love within
His heart. Enveloping me in its arms. Everytime
He visited me his decomposing ghostly body
Would have rotted away, a little bit more.
Only his fiercely shining brown eyes remained
The same. My poor mate didn't realise that he
Was dead. He was trapped between two
Dimensions and I was unable to help him.
He sadly wondered why I didn't run to him,
As I always used to, with open arms. But I
Always only stood there, horrified in the dawns
Darkness. As my new young dog romped
Happily up to me, my old friend's heart was
Filled with a sudden realisation, that he no
Longer belonged here. He slowly lifted his
Head and howled to the end of innocence,
Towards the lightening skies. A blinding
White sheet devoured his withered old
Body, and sent him into heavenly peace
Where his lonely old loving soul belonged.
