                                                                                                                  page-1 THE RAINFOREST

The forest is forever green
Dark is the forest floor
Through the trees creeps a tiny sunlit beam
The growth is forever at war

Mosses steadily cover the rocks
Vines strangle the trees and climb high
Tangled canopy forms a lock
So the ground may never meet the sky

A misty haze surrounds the falls
Spiders spin dew drop webs
The peaceful sound of a lyre-birds call
Warns that day is about to ebb

The forest comes alive at night
Bush creatures come out to play
The forest guards her children tight
For night is the beginning of day
