32. No Energy Left For Bargains
It takes too much precious energy to figure out
how much you'll be saving, when you buy the bread
with preservatives for $1.67,
when the healthier organic variety costs $1.76
& then to do this for every grocery item in the trolley,
on every day of the week.
As you buy in endless dribs & drabs
with scraped up money.
I'm too tired for this sort of thinking,
this fiddle-arsing around.
Besides I've got other things on my mind at present.
Like where are my dreams? & why did I let them go?
I just eat healthily & choose to go hungry.
I don't prefer to go hungry really.
I just can't manage my money. Healthy food is expensive
& I haven't got the energy to sacrifice health for cents. |
