HOBBITON: THE PERFECT CHILDHOOD
(II) Perfect Childhood

"And yes, no doubt to others our ways seem quaint, but today of all days, it is brought home to me, it is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life." - Bilbo Baggins (Walsh and Boyens)

Who could say that it never happened,
Except for somewhere within our hearts,
The smoking chimneys in the hillsides,
The yellow centres of upturned flowers,
The stone mill pushing through the stream,
The woodwork of the bright round doors?
Yet there was Hobbiton and we believed
In the landscape of the perfect childhood.

"Where our hearts truly lie, is in peace and quiet and good tilled earth. For all Hobbits share a love of things that grow." - Bilbo Baggins (Walsh and Boyens)
