CORAL HULL: FAERY WOOD
My Blue Elemental

Behind this blue veil of tears
My faery secret lost in time.
Your skin, velvet-green moss.
Nothing this pain could touch
Or that longing would wake.
The nest in the world's heart.

In the whispering foothills
Along the old coastal road
That delves into the land
Where creeks softly murmur
The forests are thoughtful
With new lives and visions
Where you slept suspended.
My blue dream in the woods.

You found me in the dawn.
The leafy dew, your water.
Your eyes of younger love
And lips of fog and berries
In an opaline glaze of rain.

You are shy, deer-hearted.
A soft language of doves
Deciphered by valleys
And moved into motion
On the edges of autumn
Beneath the walk of the sun.

I see your golden trembling
As faint dust on silver bark
That sheds its past stories
Along the scent of the track
In the ring of the mushroom.

So, where will you lead me
With my heart full of sorrow
And your mist-filled psyche?

I love the way you wander
Into these deepening woods
Of love found and love lost
Where all traces of reason
Are coveted by snowfall.

I will begin to become you
On walls of ivy and jasmine
Along the land-locked stone.
You are the miracle of me
In this moment of imagining
Where my heart has stilled.

The saddest eyes are ponds
That will not turn into rivers.
Leaves rustle in the silence
Of these quietening places
That bask in their mysteries.
We fade on the outskirts
As they elude our desires.

You vanish by mid-morning
But you will always return
As the melt in the ice water
And the stream of the plain
That unlocks these moments
Into the hearts of the poets.
My blue dream in the woods.

Walk in my mind like silence.
Place your bud upon my lips
So I may breathe in this night.
You are my guiding radiance
And your caress is the wind
Upon mist-scented mountains
That edge into slumbering
Of wings folded and rested
By long bridges of rainbows
Into a sacred time of faery.
Nothing this world could touch.

My blue dream in the woods.
The moon is your pale cheek
And the fountain your speech.
We have faded from harm
Into the branches of trees
Now we sleep like the stars.

We are shedding these histories
Our secret footfall in shadows.
Only animals will sense this
As we pass from the moment
With a knowledge between us
And these blue woods within.
We will return like the seasons
On the borders of daydreams
Of deep nights we have spoken
In these books of lost miracles.
No-one will follow us home.
We are the dream of each other.
