As the painted colours of
Sunset dim and settle into
Blackness, the wind silently
Moves across the plain, leaving
Behind a desolate feeling
Of isolation and loneliness.
An alpine hare, with twitching
Whiskers and bright brown eyes,
The only evidence of life, other
Than a few sparse shrubs
Clinging desperately to the
Ground, trying to escape the
Icey grip of frost. With the
Sun goes warmth and light,
Leaving a six month twilight
Shadowing the plain with its
Coat of darkness.
