CORAL HULL: REED-SONG: EARLY POEMS: VOL 4
page-253 The tattered figure ran blindly through the bush
His eyes wide with terror
Every now and then he glanced behind him with wild
Horror filled eyes at the unseen presence he felt
Sure was not far behind him
She followed at a distance a phantom creature
Transparent her loving gaze watched his every
Move as he tried to escape from what he did not
Understand
He senses her getting closer and closer and
Wondered what would happen when she caught him
In his pocket he felt the magic dagger which had
Always protected him on previous such occasions
He felt relieved but only momentarily as she
Approached running faster his heart beat faster
And faster
Unfortunately for him
She saw something much more interesting further on
She ignored his gaze and rushed towards it
It was an incredibly dark hole that when she
Entered she started to fall down further
Into darkness
Plumenting at enormous speeds she broke the sound
Barrier with a rebounding clap
She shot out the other end and found herself on a
Serene and peaceful planet with millions of vegan
Feminists a lot of which were aboriginal
She became very tired after her adventure and
Fell quickly asleep.
