Little sparrow, tiny sparrow
Flying through the air
Couldn't you see the window was shut
That it was glass, not air

Little sparrow, tiny sparrow
When I saw you hit the ground
The crowd all gasped with laughter
As my heart began to pound

Little sparrow, tiny sparrow
They pick you up, a token
Of their sadistic amusement
Even when your heart was broken

Little sparrow, tiny sparrow
They threw and kicked you about on the floor
They screamed with excited frenzie
But I could stand no more

I walked away, disgusted sad
That the death of some tiny creature
Could distort every human feature
Into something wicked and mad

Little sparrow, tiny sparrow
I think about moments past
I wonder if the crowd thought about
The pain as you hit that glass
