                                                                                                              page-112 HAPPINESS

Can I imprison you in an empty vase
So that only I may see?
Can I find you lingering longingly
Beneath a New Years Christmas tree?
Can I explore the soul of another
And find you lingering there?
Why do you evade my subtle trap?
As a frisky springtime hare.
I mean only to have ... not hurt
And watch you from afar ...
Oh, I desire you happiness,
The Lyre-bird that you are!
