                                                                                                                page-13 AWAY FROM HOME

There was a man, who walked alone
Towards the hotel, away from home
Away from hope, away from love
Away from faith in God above
A pain in his chest, his weary tread
He thinks of things, he shouldn't have said
He thinks of life, and all the wrong
The hotel it grasps him, in a soothing song
He holds his head, the night before
The smashing glass...the window, door
It hurts his head, it tears him apart
But the real pain, is in his heart
Those around him suffer, things he's done and said
He hurts because he loves them,
That dancing pain in his head
The hotel is there, the liquer is thin
It warms his soul, as a guilt creeps in
Guilt is gone, as he drinks some more
He forgets the fact,..he's a beaten man
And all is well again....
Somewhere in the darkness
Loved ones watch And grow old
No pity on their stoney faces
They are hurt and cold
A guilt creeps in more often, he drowns it in a glass
Drowning in his sorrow, a lost future, present, past.
