11. They Call Us Low Life & Shit Kickers
We possess the mentality of doing everything the hard way.
I'm still chipping away at bedrock with a nail file.
Not only am I doing this, but I'm proud of it.
I just can't seem to get past the delusion
that by doing this I'm worthy, or past the hope
that something good is going to happen eventually.
This is brought about by my earnt worthiness & the mentality
that if I continue to remain a good working class sucker
that I will live happily ever after, knowing that I have
worked hard for it & that I am worthy of it. This elusive
'after life', where one day, if I have worked hard enough,
I know I will be happy, having deserved it, eventually.
'Please don't be suckers', I begged my family.
'The better off pretend, that they don't know you exist.
The wealthy that have put the system in place,
are laughing behind your backs.'
When I got to uni they called us low life & shit-kickers.
(for imparting this knowledge to them, my family hated me) |
