WHO YOU DO NOT KNOW
"The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge." [Proverbs 18:15, The Holy Bible, KJV]

Thinking of W. H. Auden
Satan will mock you with his, "I told you so!"
The devils all know the price we have to pay;
If only you had faith in who you do not know.
If we weep when circus lions are beaten for a show,
If we stagger in pain when starving children pray,
Satan will still mock us with his, "I told you so!"
There are many sad stories to be told, although,
Because you say nothing when God's Word is true,
You were unable to tell her, or to let them know.
God directs the winds from whenst they blow.
He orchestrates the leaves in their slow decay,
Satan will mock you with his, "I told you so!"
God clothes the lilies that strive and grow,
God sees feathers of birds that cannot stay,
If only you had faith in who you do not know.
Suppose all the believers get up and go.
And all the saved and chosen are taken away;
Will you say nothing but, "I do not know."
Will Satan mock you with his, "I told you so!"

"Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments." [Psalms 119:66, The Holy Bible, KJV] |
