Lord, we go willingly towards your holy light,
Angels sing your glory at the opening of day;
Praise, praise upon the brightening of night.
Though wise men perish thinking dark is right,
Because they lusted after the world, then they
Do not go willingly towards your holy light.
Good men, who lose all hope, cry at night
While their dreams of utopia still hold sway,
