CORAL HULL: WILLIAM'S MONGRELS
HYMN TO HER BEAUTY IN HER SICKNESS

in the unwholesome world of the great empty feeling/
which can never be satisfied/ there is food/ & there
are the things apart from food/
                                              there are meals &
the times inbetween/ there are gods to be revered/
the great before meals gods/
                                          duromine, soul's slimming
pills, caffein, excercise & the after dinner gods/
god of the great finger down the throat/ senokot &
moduretic gods/
there are the shrines of weight
watchers remembrance/ jenny craigs, gloria marshalls,
overeaters anonymous, the dietician, the chemist/

doctors of the great fat sucking operations/ the
specialists, the gym, the cleo magazine readings &
the times inbetween/
& the days of doubting in-
between each nine day celery & grapefruit diet/
for many followers/
there is the great second, third
& fourth coming of the lungs out of breath/ the
wobbling arms/ the clothes that no longer fit/ the
hanging chin/
the three tiered stomach/ the tears &
fears in the great temple of hatred which they have
helped you build & now you must live in/
                                                           for many
followers/ the full fridge at midnight meditations/
the biscuit barrel & cake tin offerings/
                                                         the great
whole pizza feast baptised in rivers of fanta/ the
partaking of fluids from the seven eleven/
                                                              the
heavenly state of as much food as possible down the
throat/ followed closely by the holy purging/
                                                                there
are the years of fasting/ the preparations to the
higher meditations/ the worship of the great goddess
amphetamine/
the dim periods of feastlessness &
lightenment/ where one may glow for awhile/ where
one may be offered more sexual temptations/
                                                                    by those
seeking & loving that mystery which commands your
internal organs/ to make you smaller & whiter &
sacred/ more whole, more holy, more faery/
                                                                 in the
darkening months/ the shrinking breasts/ the time of
the great falling off of rings/ of the great fat
shedding/
the sacred rites of infertility/ menstrual
stopping, teeth rotting, stomach panging/ mystic
weakness of the weaker beauty/
                                                in the darkening
hours/ symbol of the great pelvic bone/ aerobics
endurance trials/ the cup of tea in the morning &
diet coke at night ritual/
                                    with many prayers in-
between/ to keep that great fear of adding pounds
away/ when that weekly diet biscuit is placed upon
the tongue/
no one can be trusted/ even in the garden
of eden eve was eating/ you must sacrifice yourself
to the great blood poisoning/
                                           the coming of the
great heart & internal organ failure/ upon riding
the grey haze to a higher & more beautiful heaven/

in the final stages/ promising complete annihilation/
the bread & water & daily drip meditation of the
royal women's hospital/
be wary/ do not be led into
the valley of food digestion/ & evil fat & muscle
tissue building like the tower they built too high/
sooner than later/
it's all going to come crashing
down/ as you face the great hallucination of life/
& the fanatics who follow your progress & remark/
she's half the woman she used to be
