CORAL HULL: POETRY INSPIRED BY THE LORD OF THE RINGS

THE KISS: ARWEN AND ARAGORN
(I) The Dream

"Renech i lu i erui govannem?" (Do you remember when we first met?) - Arwen "Nauthannem i ned ol reniannen." (I thought I had strayed into a dream) - Aragorn (Walsh & Boyens)

Our eyes first met in the shade of a clearing
where the Athelas plant grew in the evening,
It was as deep and rich and strong as healing.
I came from afar, through the midsts of time,
It was like a star had fallen into your palm.

The mountains tumbled into folds on the hills.
The roots took hold in the floors of the woods.
The world created through the music of love,
its song grown sad and apart from the Anor.

It was said, that we belonged to the wild moon
and were of its stars scattered upon the ocean
within all the long tides that now swept us away.
My light was your gift, before the sun had risen.
By dawn we had grown deeply into each other.

"There Lúthien walked before his eyes in Rivendell, clad in a mantle of silver and blue, fair as the twilight in Elven-home; her dark hair strayed in a sudden wind, and her brows were bound with gems like stars." - (J.R.R. Tolkien)
