(IV) Mortal Life

"I would rather share one lifetime with you, than face all the ages of this world alone. I choose a mortal life." - Arwen Evenstar (Walsh & Boyens)

Here is my only light. It is yours to keep.
For I chose to end here, without a trace.
I will not catch the elven ship to Valinor,
in order to remain undying among my kind,
where the memory of you is forever green.

My heart is mine to give to whom I chose,
just like my immortal soul, that I forsake.
I would rather share one lifetime with you,
than face all the ages of this world alone.

Now a star has fallen, to shine in your heart,
where it will end, without a hope to guide it.
Elessar, I chose a mortal life to be with you.
I will release my ending light into this time.
For if your life is no more, then I will follow.
