CORAL HULL: IN THE DOG BOX OF SUMMER
THE DEAD SEA ALONG 1153

ten thirty a.m.
ancient saplings creep closest to
ground then sink into railway
shacks like quiet grey reptiles
shells are baking
rocks have died
ten forty a.m.
a young wedgetail beats into
still heat shells are crackling
& all dust hurries beneath
the train along 1153
