DOGFALL
binda falling like a blue shadow
through my arms/ onto the footpath/
cascading muscle floated downstream
with blue oxygen spots/ this liquid
metal dog & useless orange fur comes
leaping over my wrists & knuckles/
& mut-brown eyes back-flipping up
into clouds/ thrown along currents
with the black specs of birds/ &
leaving me behind/ panting with an
armful of bundled panic & tongue
collapsing canine/ the city grinds
to a halt in the sunlight/ whilst
binda falls in between buildings to
his bottomless insides/ i have never
known the mystery beneath his dark
skin/ i am left floundering on the
industrial outside of his falling/
with this epileptic flood of dog/
toppling over my jagged fingers of
rock/ my eyes like still cold pools
waiting at the bottom/ for the great
crush of bone & tear splash on impact |
