1. The Great Barrier Reef Package

A. Tourist Boats Above The Surface

Drop your anchors, experiencing all the natural wonders of the great ocean
barrier, leaving cairns to cruise to the outer reef, on the edge of our
continental shelf, swim & snorkel amongst colourful corals & tropical fish,
ride in the 'sub-sea coral-viewer' or the glass bottom boats, our 'fish feeding
frenzy show' is amongst the highlights of the tour, followed by a delicious
tropical smorgasbord, fresh barrier reef seafood at our 'eat the ocean'
special offer luncheon, the oasis captain cook, is the ultimate cruise craft,
fully spaciously air conditioned, includes deck games, plush lounge & bistro,
en-suites, international a la carte dining & a marine naturalist, this 35
metre luxury catamaran is yours, for lazy days of propelling over intricate
coral ecosystems, recline on decks, scuba diving facilities & fishing
equipment at your fingertips, nets & big hooks if you're a beer boy with a
beer gut on his once a year holiday from the suburbs, reel in a blonde
bronzed beauty in a g-string bikini or simply explore the coral cays, i got
caught on the coral, millions of oxygen bubbles, rushing to the surface,
throwing up crumbling reef, into dusty underwater clouds, our diving
instructor picked up a sea cucumber & stuck it down his wet suite pants,
pretending it was a penis, he did a little underwater dance, then threw it
back down on the reef, it was that purple & drowsy in his hands, that i
didn't recognise it as a living thing, later, on sunset, a deep purple band
stretched across the sky & i thought of the sea cucumber, it was one of the
most beautiful things i had ever seen made into a penis, then the nimbin
boy on a mission, pulled out a flick knife, dived down to a deeper shelf &
was gouging something off the coral, inky blood adrift in the water, the
scene thick with murder, he said it was a sea star, a 'crown of thorns' that
was taking over the reef, i thought the star fish looked like a heart, my
breathing strained into the mask, i prefered to snorkel up above, with the
sun on my back, later, on tour, they threw off a fishing line to try & hook
the big one, a pretty girl threw up over the side, they were hoping the
vomit would attract fish, but they never dragged up anything, grey coral
stared up with anchor holes ripped into it, so they had to be content with
greasy suntan lotion on their lips, washed down by fat, from blood red
steak, shriveled up snags & an icy cold one from a fridge.
